must have fame! Fame!
John Wilkes Booth, age 18
Booth Back on the Boards!
ohn Wilkes Booth returns to the footlights in the world premiere of The Most Famous Man in America, an explosive one-man play which successfully debuted at the Jim Bonney Theatre. Mr. Booth was last seen on stage fleeing Ford’s Theatre in Washington, DC and has not trod the boards since.
That John Wilkes Booth shot Abraham Lincoln is beyond doubt, but who can definitively say why? The Most Famous Man in America dramatizes the final hour leading up to the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Time-travel back to 1865 and be a fly on the wall as Booth prepares to commit his bold, mad act. Why did he do it, when he had everything to lose and nothing to gain? You be the judge!
Go to Play, to learn more about the show, its creator and staff. Under History, you'll get a brief overview of Booth's life and the times in which he lived. Photo Gallery contains images of Booth, the actor Christopher Fabbro as Booth, and historical figures of the times related to the story. 3/1/05 - I moved to Berkeley, CA and decided to keep this website as a means for people to stay in touch. No show news at this time, but check back now and again to keep tabs on me... Here's a link to some photos my girlfriend Diana and I took as we drove across the country:
8/15/04 - I put up my new MugLuv website, to promote my custom photo coffee mug business.
9/10/03 - I decided not to present The Most Famous Man in America at the One Festival in Manhattan. Instead, I'm working on various writing projects.
8/25/03 - I appeared briefly as John Wilkes Booth on PBS's "History Detectives," in an episode entitled "Ventriloquist Dummy; Lincoln Assassination Plot." The show investigated whether JWB plotted Lincoln's assassination in a humble apartment in Greenwich Village. For more information and to check local listings and times, visit the show's website at PBS.
